Honest Erasimsi Nyaki

Honest is a shy boy whose dream is to be a fundi, which is Swahili for builder. Honest is attending Ngaruma Vocational Training School and has completed his first year. He was absent for 23 days and his performance is described as ‘average’. He seems to enjoy the practical part of his masonry program where he earned 67%.

When we visited the school we were impressed to see him building a small practice wall of blocks and cement. He also appeared to be enjoying his classmates. The school offers a special upgrading course after the second year to help graduates advance their skills.

Honest has a vision defect with one of his eyes because, we were told, his father performed the delivery when he was born. For his Canadian supporters Honest drew a very detailed bus with passengers.
